There are so many things to love about Edinburgh a There are so many things to love about Edinburgh and Calton Hill is one of them! ☀️

Now that it’s sunnier it’s a good time to go and see the sights for yourselves!☀️

I was inspired by Safeera‘s last post about the I was inspired by Safeera‘s last post about the literal and figurative flowers that bloom with the arrival of Springtime. I haven’t seen many tulips yet this season here in the Netherlands but they should be popping up soon; I am lucky enough to enjoy this picturesque setting for a week though 😍🌷🌾

However, while Spring colors continue to saturate the nature around us, the weather keeps us guessing, like the perpetually prolonged COVID measures. Just as we prepare for warmth, the UK and Holland enter a frigid cold spell (it’s snowing outside right now! ❄️).

I feel like these inconsistent weather patterns reflect the constant suspense of lockdowns and restrictions lifting and coming back harder than before. It’s not smooth sailing (it almost never is), but we are getting closer everyday. I know it’s hard but let’s hold out just a little longer, so that when the sun does finally come out, there are no clouds to obscure it 🌞

It’s time for Edinburgh to leave its dark clouds It’s time for Edinburgh to leave its dark clouds and white hills as we begin to enter spring.

Flowers bloom, the sun shines for longer and Edinburgh starts to feel like a whole new place.

I don't know about you but I always feel a sense of exciting new energy in the air as spring commences, as this new season invites new beginnings.

Here's some photo appreciation of the new blossoming flowers all over the city and my friend goofing around amongst them. Who else is looking forward to this new season?

This week I ‘celebrated’ my one year anniversary of leaving Edinburgh and it has been a crazy roller coaster. Everything changed and the world has been turned upside down but one thing hasn’t changed is my love for Edinburgh. I’ll see you soon enough Edinburgh!!!
